For smaller, cavitated lesions, these white restorations are what most people think of when they hear “fillings.” We use a BPA-free filling material and careful case selection to increase the chance of a long-lasting restoration.

The “gold-standard” of pediatric restorative care, these crowns have been around forever and often last the whole remaining life of the baby tooth. While silver in color, they wear in the same way enamel does, are biocompatible and often a quick and easy procedure for the patient to experience.

Newer to the field of pediatric crowns, Zirconia is a tooth-colored ceramic-like material. These take a bit longer to place for our patients so may not be suitable for all age-groups and comfort level but can be a good alternative when a larger cavity is present.

When a cavity is deeper but has not yet infected the nerve, we often need to remove the nerve to avoid infection. We use a biocompatible material that is inert & safe for the body called MTA as the medicine for this procedure because it has the highest success rate.

Sometimes a baby tooth is stubborn & won’t leave on its own, sometimes your orthodontist needs the tooth out to make room and sometimes a tooth gets sick because a cavity is big. We promise, Dr. Sam makes the removal of a tooth easier than you think it is.

Baby teeth hold space for their permanent successors and when we lose them earlier than expected it can be necessary to place space maintainers to hold the space they would have held. This helps the position of the adult teeth which will come in later.

For any patient, neurotypical or not, who may not be able to tolerate treatment in the traditional setting, we offer Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) in the office. For patients with extensive needs, we offer sedation dentistry where your child is asleep and all of their work is done in one appointment.
